FALL EDITION

A Message from the Board of Trustees

Dear Members,
As the colours of fall transform the landscape, it feels like the perfect time to introduce some exciting changes of our own. Alongside our updated logo, we’re proud to unveil our new website www.ua67benefits.ca which reflects our commitment to growth, progress, and staying connected with you. The redesigned website offers a more organized and user-friendly
experience. You can now easily:

  • Find information about your benefits;
  • Learn how the Welfare and Pension Plans work;
  • Download benefits booklets and claim forms;
  • Read the latest communications and newsletters.

In addition to the improved navigation through the menu tabs, you can also use the search bar to quickly locate what you need. We invite you to explore the new site and take advantage of the helpful resources available. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the Benefits Office. Their team is ready to assist you!

We’d like to take this opportunity to welcome John Noseworthy to the Board of Trustees. John joined the United Association in 2007 and currently works as the Supervisor of Welding and Training at Local 67. With nearly 18 years in the trade, he’s built a career around helping members grow their skills and mentoring the next generation of welders. We’re wishing him all the best as he takes on this new role!

We hope this season has given you many reasons to be thankful. Wishing you a wonderful Fall!

Sincerely,

Steve Foffano, Chairman

2025 Fraud Prevention Institute for Employee Benefit Plans

Barrington Price attended the Fraud Prevention Conference in Chicago last July and was the moderator for the session Plan Fraud Insurance: Key Considerations for Protection. In addition to exploring the evolving role of artificial intelligence in fraud schemes, the conference featured thought provoking discussions on strategies to mitigate the risk of plan fraud. As trustees, we share the responsibility of safeguarding our plans and ensuring that strong preventative measures are put in place.
