What’s Included
Coverage
Includes the services of a:
- Registered Nurse (R.N.)
- Registered Practical Nurse (R.P.N.)
- Licensed Practical Nurse (L.P.N.)
$10,000 per lifetime for services provided in your home on a visit or shift basis.
Support may also be available through the Ontario Ministry of Health’s Home & Community Care Support Services.
Does not include charges:
- By a nurse related to you by birth or marriage or who lives with you
- For services which could be provided by someone who is not a registered nurse
- Agency fees
- Commissions
- Overtime

Hospital Room
Semi-private or private hospital rooms are not covered under the plan. However, they are an eligible expense that you can submit to your Health Care Spending Account.
If you or a family member are in Hospital long term or need full time care, learn how to access Ontario’s Home and Community Care Support Services.
Ground Ambulance
Covered from site of the incident to hospital.
Important To Know
Prior approval for coverage is required from GreenShield before services start, and again each month after 30 days.
