Dear Members,

Thank you to everyone who returned their Pension Verification letter. This important step helps ensure your contact information is up to date and confirms that you are continuing to receive your pension. It also plays a key role in protecting the plan against fraud. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping the Pension Plan secure.

March marks World Mental Health Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness about mental health and supporting those facing mental health challenges. It encourages individuals to feel hopeful, take action, and contribute to meaningful, lasting change.

In that spirit, we would like to share that GreenShield has acquired the Canadian mental health services segment of Kii Health. This includes their Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP), Student Assistance Program (SAP), CBT Associates, and Therapist-Assisted iCBT (TAiCBT) services, as well as the MindBeacon digital therapy platform.

As the demand for mental health support continues to grow, these services have become an essential part of employee benefits. This acquisition represents a significant step forward. By integrating Kii Health’s services, including its clinical expertise and national practitioner network, into GreenShield’s integrated payer-provider platform, they are expanding their ability to deliver a seamless, end-to-end health experience for our plan members.

In recognition of Mental Health Week 2026, we would like to share some services offered in our city. St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton is the province’s second largest provider of mental health and addiction services, and is focused on providing stigma-free, state-of-the-art-care for individuals living with mental illness and substance use concerns.

GreenShield Updates

Receipt Upload - Paused

After further review, the previously announced transition to mandatory receipt uploads for all claims within GreenShield+ has been deferred and there is no new implementation date at this time.

What This Means:

• There will be no change to the claims submission process at this time.
• Any previous messaging that referenced the upcoming requirement should be considered paused.

Digital ID Card

GreenShield is transitioning to digital ID cards as the standard for plan members as part of their ongoing commitment to a digital-first strategy. This means new members will receive a GreenShield Welcome Email containing their Plan Member ID, along with instructions on how to register for GreenShield+ and access their Digital ID Card.

• Existing members who previously received a physical ID card and require a replacement will now access their card online through GreenShield+.
• Members can print their ID card, save it to their digital wallet, access it through the mobile app, or take a photo for their records. To learn how to create an online account with GreenShield, visit https://bit.ly/GreenshieldAccount
